It was in 1975 in Cebu, Philippines when businessman Antonio Aliganga and wife Susana Bacus ventured into the world of furniture business. With very meager initial capital they braved this new challenge of producing furniture with perseverance, hard work, a lot of determination and put up a furniture store in Cebu. With less than 10,000 pesos they began by marketing furniture products in Cebu. It was a tough job keeping a business with too little resources. Most often they find themselves working day and night only to keep a dream realized. A year after they started manufacturing their own line of furniture products. 

 MISSION: It has always been the company’s prime motivation to excel in quality and style which would equate international standards. To be able to share our products with the local market at low price is one of our commitments to the people and the entire Philippine furniture makers.

 PRODUCTS: We specialize in making quality furniture using time proven carpentry techniques that will make our products last through generations. 

 NEW NAME, NEW SPIRIT, RENEWED COMMITMENT: Early 2002, two of the stock holders decided to venture on a business solely their own and wanted to sell their shares of stocks. The remaining stock holders bought out their shares and then planned on creating a new and aggressive strategy to further boost product sales and lead the company into the next level of product quality and craftsmanship but still with the same desire to serve Cebu and the neighboring areas with more improved and high quality furniture. 

From this, DISEGNO ELEGANTE CORPORATION was born, the same company which operated for more than 40 years but with a new name, a new spirit and a renewed commitment to produce world class furniture products.
